About The Plan
This structured and progressive preparation is designed to help riders perform well at the Schleck Xperience Gran Fondo. The workouts are adapted to the demands and typology of the race, with a focus on building the fitness needed for long endurance efforts, repeated climbs, pacing and race-day readiness.
The plan provides clear week-by-week structure and progressive training load across the 10-week preparation. Workouts are designed to build endurance, climbing strength, pacing control and the confidence required to handle the event’s rolling and hilly terrain.
This preparation is suitable for beginner through to advanced cyclists looking to arrive at the start line feeling prepared, confident and ready to enjoy the race.

Meet Your Coach
Frank Schleck is one of Luxembourg’s most accomplished professional cyclists and a well-known figure in international road racing. During his career he developed a strong reputation as a climber and stage-race rider, competing at the highest level of the sport.
His major results include winning Amstel Gold Race (2006), winning stages in both the Tour de France and Vuelta a España, and winning the overall Tour de Suisse in 2010. He also wore the yellow jersey at the Tour de France and achieved podium finishes in the Ardennes Classics, including 2nd at Liège–Bastogne–Liège (2011) and 3rd in 2007 and 2008.
Today Frank remains closely involved in cycling through leadership roles. He serves as National Cycling Coordinator for the Luxembourg Cycling Federation and Sports Director with Lidl-Trek’s women’s team, continuing to contribute his experience and knowledge to the sport.

Gran Fondo racing is about managing the effort across the entire day. Riders need the endurance for long distances, the strength to handle repeated climbs, and the discipline to pace the race well. This plan is designed to build those qualities step by step.
